Inventory Specialist

Position Overview: The Inventory Specialist plays a crucial role in managing and optimizing inventory within projects. This position involves overseeing the procurement, storage, tracking, and distribution of parts, components, and materials essential for operations. The specialist ensures that the right inventory is available at the right time to support ongoing projects, while also minimizing excess inventory and associated costs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of all inventories, including parts, materials, and components. Monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate stock for ongoing projects while minimizing excess inventory. Learn our ERP system and work with the team to optimize inventory related elements.
  • Procurement: Coordinate with procurement teams to source required inventory items, considering factors such as cost, quality, and lead time.
  • Storage and Organization: Maintain efficient storage systems for inventory, ensuring proper handling and preservation of sensitive materials. Implement best practices for inventory organization to facilitate easy access and retrieval.
  • Tracking and Monitoring: Manage inventory tracking systems to monitor stock levels, movement, and usage patterns.
  • Compliance and Documentation: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards governing the handling and storage of materials. Maintain accurate documentation related to inventory all transactions.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate closely with engineering teams, project managers, and other stakeholders to understand inventory requirements and priorities. Provide timely updates on inventory status and participate in planning discussions to support project timelines.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains within the inventory management function. Implement solutions to streamline workflows, reduce costs, and enhance overall effectiveness.
  • Production Assistance: Generate Work Orders and monitor inventory as it pertains to all manufacturing documents.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in inventory management, preferably within the aerospace or aviation industry.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in inventory tracking systems and software.
  • Knowledge of aviation materials, components, and procurement processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in inventory records and documentation.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
